Morning Police Report for 11/27/2007-11/30/2007
11/27/2007 a car reported stolen in August was recovered in Dallas NC.
Investigation is continuing with assistance of NC DMV
On 11/27 at 2010 Officers assisted EMS with a student who had taken too
much of a prescribed medicine
On 11/27 at 1714 Officers responded to an alarm at Belk and found
employees resetting the alarm
On 11/27 at 1218 Officers responded to a fire alarm at FPAC with the
Cullowhee Fire dept. No problem was found
On 11/27 at 0143 Officers found over turned trash cans and a porta-john
in the Creek Lot.
On 11/27 at 1335 Officers investigated damage to a student's car at
Norton
On 11/27 0918 Officers investigated a vandalism incident at the Village.
A student admitted to doing the damage and was given a UJC
On 11/28 at 0900 Investigated damage to University property by an air
soft guns. Three students were given UJC for their involvement in the
incident
At 2317 on 11/28 Officers checked on the welfare of a student at the
request of the local mental health helpline. University counselors were
contacted.
On 11/28 at 0625 Officers responded to Stillwell after an alarm reported
glass breakage. No problem was found
On 11/28 at 0706 officers responded to an alarm at Forsyth only to find
construction workers working in the area
On 11/28 at 2310 Officers made contact with two suspicious persons at
Robertson. One was a student and the other a visitor. The student was
wanted in Forsyth County for failure to appear. Forsyth County was
contacted and declined to come and pick the student up. The visitor was
found to be a registered sex offender. No action was taken against the
visitor has he wasn't doing anything in violation of university policy
or state law.
On 11/28 at 2136 Officers began an investigation of an unauthorized use
of credit card
On 11/28 Officers investigated missing property from Hoey
On 11/28 at 1430 Officers investigated the unauthorized use of a
student's Cat card. Another student admitted using the card and agreed
to reimburse the account. The student was issued a UJC
Officers located a suspicious vehicle who had been stopping students an
asking the questions. The occupants of the car were students. While
there were no criminal violations the students were counseled about what
they were doing.
On 11/28 at 2200 Officers investigated damage to an employee's car at
Dodson
On 11/29 at 0130 officers stopped a car for running a stop sign and
issued the driver a state citation for not having an inspection sticker.
On 11/29 at 1600 Officers investigated a suspicious phone call to the
mail room at the UC
On 11/29 at 2348 Officers issued a UJC to a student at Harrill for
underage alcohol possession
On 11/29 at 2350 Officers issued a State Citation to a student for
Underage consumption of alcohol at Scott. The student was also issued a
UJC for causing a disturbance and not following the directions of the RA
On 11/30 at 0200 Officers investigated harassment of a student by a
former boy-friend at Buchanan
On 11/30 at 0220 a student was arrested for assault and underage
consumption of alcohol after an incident at Scott
On 11/30 at 0304 Officers conducting a walkthrough of Belk found
students inside the building. The building coordinator was advised.
