INCIDENTS

1/14 1359 ACCIDENT BAPTIST CH NO REPORT
                Officers responded to an accident near the Baptist
                Student Union, but both parties declined to have a
                report filed and damage was very minor.

        1750 SUSPICIOUS PERSONS NEAR HFR REPORT
                Officers saw three males carrying an old tire suspended on a
                bamboo pole. The students reported that they had found the
                tire and were going to make a swing with it on campus.
                Officers advised against this.

        1948 MV VIOLATION CAMPUS CITATION
                Officers cited a male student for displaying blue lights
                on his vehicle.
        
        1952 FOUND BICYCLE THE VILLAGE REPORT
                A student reported that he had found a blue bicycle
                in the Village, but when officers arrived, the bicycle
                was not there.

        2033 ELEVATOR WALKER ASSIST
                Officers assisted a student who was stuck in an
                elevator in Walker.

1/15 0045 DWI CAMPUS ARREST
                Officers arrested a male student for DWI and driving
                after consuming while under 21. Intoxilyzer results
                were .22.

        0046 ALARM GUEST HOUSE NO FIRE
                Officers responded to a fire alarm at the Guest House
                caused by system trouble.

        0139 ARSON ALBRIGHT INVESTIGATION
                Officers responded to a fire alarm at Albright and found that
                someone had ignited a plastic article in a rest room on the
                2nd floor. The building was evacuated and the fire depart-
                ment responded. Seven students are referred to Residential
                Living for failing to evacuate the building. A $500 reward is
                being offered for information on the incident.

        0441 ALARM HELDER NO FIRE
                Someone activated a pull station on the 1st
                floor south wing. No fire. No suspects.

        1330 CONCERNED PARENT REYNOLDS REPORT
                A parent reported that she was unable to contact her
                daughter. Officers made contact with the student and
                asked her to call home.

        1340 LOST ATM CARD CAMPUS REPORT
                A student reported that she had lost her ATM card between Bob's
                Mini Mart and Helder.

        1608 SUSPICIOUS ODOR SCOTT REPORT
                Residential Living staff reported the odor of marijuana on the
                7th floor of Scott. Officers detected only incense when they
                arrived.

        1959 HIT & RUN LEATHERWOOD INVESTIGATION
                A student reported that his car was damaged by a hit & run
                driver while it was parked at Leatherwood.

        2226 SUSPICIOUS PERSONS SCOTT NO CONTACT
                Residential Living staff reported two suspicious males on the 4th
                floor of Scott Hall. Officers could not locate the subjects.

                FOUND WALLET NC 107 MAILED
                Officers mailed a wallet that had been found on
                NC 107 to its owner.

                FOUND CELL PHONE CAMPUS RETURNED
                Officers returned a lost cell phone to its owner on 1/15.

                LOST KEYS UC REPORT
                A student reported that he had lost his keys on the
                University Center lawn on 1/15.

1/16 0119 LOUD PARTY THE SUMMIT ASSIST
                Officers assisted Jackson County deputies at The Summit
                where an estimated 150 people were attending a party in
                the parking lot. Deputies closed down the party and suggested
                that non-residents leave the area. No arrests.

        0130 TAMPERING WITH EXTINGUISHER ALBRIGHT INVESTIGATION
                A student reported that he saw a male suspect tampering with a fire
                extinguisher in Albright Hall.

        0135 LOUD PARTY PKA HOUSE ASSIST
                Officers assisted Jackson County deputies with a loud
                music call at the PKA house. The crowd was not large
                and the students agreed to turn the music down.

        0205 MV VIOLATION CAMPUS CITATION
                Officers cited a female student for exceeding a safe speed.

        1705 SUSPICIOUS ODOR WALKER REPORT
                Officers responded to a report of the odor of marijuana in
                a room on the 3rd floor of Walker. They detected no odor,
                but found evidence that marijuana had been used in the
                room. The three occupants did not live in the room and
                were asked to leave. Referred to Residential Living.

        1715 VANDALISM WALKER A LOT REPORTS
                Officers found six vehicles that had been egged in the Walker A
                lot. The owners were called so they could clean their cars before
                the paint was damaged.
