Find Available Funding

Math Lab

WCU faculty, staff, and graduate students have access to a number of tools for finding funding opportunities for their projects: SPIN (online funding database), Foundation Center Directory, Funding search request, and Internal Grants and Awards.

SPIN is a funding database available to WCU faculty, staff, and graduate students. A robust tool, SPIN offers researchers the ability to customize funding searches and receive email alerts for tracked opportunities and active searches. SPIN includes opportunities from federal agencies, local foundations, professional associations, and other sources.

Foundation Center Directory

The Foundation Center Directory is a database of more than 140,000 grant makers. Multiple filters help sort for the most relevant prospective funders.

The Foundation Center Directory can be accessed through the Hunter Library database list.

Funding Search Request

To request funding search assistance from the Office of Research Administration, please complete this short form. Once you have completed the form, someone will contact you for a brief meeting to discuss your project idea(s). Many times we are able to obtain more accurate and targeted results if we are able to combine the survey results with a face-to-face meeting.

Internal Grants and Awards

A number of internal grants and awards are available to WCU faculty and instructional staff. For more specific information about each of these, please click on the links below:

The following grants and awards are sponsored by the Office of the Provost:
