InfoEd

WCU is going to be replacing RAMSeS with a comprehensive research administration software that will help streamline administrative processes and consolidate research administration function. The Proposal Development (PD) module will have the capability to build complete proposals within the system and allow us to submit federal proposals to grants.gov through a system-to-system (S2S) interface. All external grant and contract proposals will be routed for approval within this module and will be managed by the pre-award team in the Office of Research Administration (ORA).

Within InfoEd’s Financial Tracking (FT) module, Principal Investigators will have the ability to track and manage their grant award budgeting details in real time as well as create burn rate reports to help better navigate grant planning. All fund reviews previously prepared by ORA will now be utilized in FT given the ease of access for both ORA and the PI and their administrative staff. The FT module will be managed by the post-award team in ORA.

The Compliance Protocol (CP) module will automate the compliance processes for the Institutional Review Board, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and Institutional Biosafety Committee. Applications and forms are completed directly in InfoEd, instead of submitting word documents for review, streamlining the submission and approval process. The CP module will be managed by the research compliance officer in ORA.

SPIN

SPIN is a funding database available to WCU faculty, staff, and graduate students. A robust tool, SPIN offers researchers the ability to customize funding searches and receive email alerts for tracked opportunities and active searches. SPIN includes opportunities from federal agencies, private and corporate foundations, professional associations, and other sources.

There are two ways to access SPIN:

  • Login via InfoEd. After you have logged into InfoEd, you can access SPIN in the left-hand menu.
  • You can login via the link below using the SPIN login credentials that have been set up. If you do not have SPIN credentials, please contact to have one set up for you.

Please note that accessing SPIN through InfoEd and through the login below are two different logins and so any saved searches and queries that you have will not transfer over.
