Western Carolina University is committed to providing our stakeholders with evidence of student learning. The Office of Assessment is working towards being transparent with how our institution uses evidence of assessment results. We are focused on refining our performance and continuously identifying areas where changes in policies and practices can lead to improvement of planning, goal setting, program review, and institutional decision-making.
Dr. Tammy Barron and Dr. Charmion Rush have completed the second year of their NC State Improvement Grant. The NC State Improvement Grant is being used to prepare WCU teacher candidates to provide high quality instruction in reading and math.
The Educational Leadership program at WCU prepares professionals to work in an educational environment as a senior-level leader. This competitive and rigorous professional doctoral program is for educators working in leadership positions and preparing to enter senior-level leadership. As a member of the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED), WCU has engaged in rethinking and redesigning the professional doctorate in education so it can maximize its effectiveness for participants.
