Conditional Admission to Western Carolina University

Spring 2021 ONLINE IEP INFORMATION

Intensive English Program students may apply for conditional admission to study in Western Carolina University's undergraduate and graduate programs after successfully completing the IEP. Following completion of the WCU IEP they may enter a degree program without providing a TOEFL or IELTS score.

Students who do not complete the IEP at WCU must have a 68 TOEFL or 6.0 IELTS for undergraduate admissions.

  • No visa required
  • No application fee
  • Courses range $160 - $275 [Register and Pay]
  • All instructors have at least ten years of experience teaching English and hold graduate degrees in TESOL, English, or similar
  • All students who successfully complete a course will receive a certificate from Western Carolina University

Session 1: March 15 – April 9, 2021
Register by: March 8

Session 2: April 19 - May 14, 2021

Cost of Attendance Includes:  
Program tuition, placement testing, campus + program orientation, social activities, cultural events, and IEP specific student support. 

Full-time students receive a WCU Student ID Card, university email address, and access to important university services (academic library, computer labs, writing tutors, health center, counseling center, state-of-the-art gym and athletic facilities.)  The student ID card grants free admission to all university sports "home" events and significant discounts on campus-sponsored music and theater productions.

*** Geo Blue Insurance costs are based on a weekly rate. Health insurance is purchased each semester by the student, with assistance from the WCU IEP office. Personalized quotes are available. Contact us at iep@wcu.edu for a quote based on your arrival and departure dates.
