Conditional Admission to Western Carolina University

IEP Students Graduating after completing IEP and a WCU Conditionnel Admission.

  

Intensive English Program students may apply for conditional admission to study in Western Carolina University's undergraduate and graduate programs after successfully completing the IEP. Following completion of the WCU IEP they may enter a degree program without providing a TOEFL or IELTS score.

Students who do not complete the IEP at WCU must have a 68 TOEFL or 6.0 IELTS for undergraduate admissions. Contact us at iep@wcu.edu for more information.


Full-time intensive English Program

Levels:
High Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced

Semesters:
Fall - 16 weeks, begins mid-August
Spring - 16 weeks, early January

Spring 2018: January 8 - May 11
Fall 2018: August 13 - December 14

Curriculum: 

Classes are in session Monday—Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Instruction and strategies cover reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar as well as special topics such as literature, film, academic research, iBT test-preparation and culture. There are also 20 hours per week in language instruction and a variety of cross-cultural activities throughout the semester.

Benefits: 
Full-time program participants have access to the same facilities and benefits as university students including on-campus housing and dining, free tutoring services, cultural events, student activities, a state-of-the-art gym, athletic facilities and access to attend university sports events.

There are also 20 hours per week in language instruction and a variety of cross-cultural activities throughout the semester.

short-Term summer intensive english program

Immerse yourself in English at Western Carolina University! As part of this special 3-week summer program, you will engage with classmates and wonderful instructors for 20 hours a week of language instruction. Explore the local area and experience mountain culture on the weekends through planned activities and excursions. In the evenings, enjoy walking around WCU's beautiful campus before returning to your home at the university.

There are also 20 hours per week in language instruction and a variety of cross-cultural activities throughout the semester.

Benefits:
Short-term program participants have access to some of the same facilities as university students, including on-campus housing and dining, a state-of-the-art gym, and on premises-only use of the university library.

Cost:*

$3300 USD includes tuition, fees, housing, meals, activities, transportation to and from the airport. Students are responsible for personal expenses and airfare.

Worldview Leadership summit

Built for professionals in any field, you'll spend three weeks improving your English while learning cross-cultural leadership skills in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina. Join other professionals from around the world as we breakdown the Leadership Summit into two weeks of English for Leadership courses and one week of in-depth study of real world application in topics such as diversity, communication, strength in leadership, negotiation, persuasion and framing challenges.

Cost:*
$3499 USD includes all fees for instruction, activites, airport transportation, housing, food, health insurance, textbooks and course materials.
