Records that are created, received, or maintained by the Coulter Faculty Commons are confidential personnel records. Such records pertain to professional development and teaching effectiveness and are for internal Commons purposes. The records are confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties unless disclosure is required by law or the faculty member consents to the disclosure of records by signing a written authorization. Such records will not be used for tenure, reappointment, promotion, or disciplinary purposes without the faculty member's consent. However, the department head and dean together can authorize administrative review in certain limited circumstances where the disclosure of records is essential to maintain the integrity of the department or university (for example, investigations involving fraud or misrepresentation.)
