Erin McCully hails from Pennsylvania but moved to North Carolina when her husband accepted a position teaching saxophone at WCU ten years ago. Erin started playing recorder in third grade, then started piano in fourth grade, added flute in middle school, and then trumpet in high school. She went on to earn a Bachelors of Music Education degree (2002), majoring in piano, and a Masters of Music Education degree (2005), specializing in voice, from Ithaca College in New York.

Erin has taught general music, music theory, music appreciation, musical theater, piano lessons, and chorus in K-12 public schools in New York, South Carolina, and North Carolina, and she is currently the director of the WCU Women's Chorus. She also holds a Masters of Education of Instructional Systems Technology degree and is the E-Learning Specialist at Southwestern Community College.
