Completing the BFA curriculum will prepare students for a career or post-graduate study in art, design or related disciplines. Program emphases allow students to explore a specific area of study while following a rigorous art curriculum.

After being admitted to WCU, those students who pursue the Studio Art Program must apply for entrance by submitting a portfolio of digital images and a letter of application that describes their goals and interests in the field. Students may do this either as entering first-year students or as first-semester sophomores.

The Studio Art Program also offers an Art Minor for students who wish to complement their studies with a less intense involvement in Art or Design.
