About Our Course & Your Experience
Western Carolina University offers a unique, challenging, team focused, group development course for on-campus academic groups, and organizations, as well as off-campus groups. The experiences participants have on our course are designed to create a strong sense of team, community, reveal trust, and reveal social-emotional skills that help folk be their best selves. Participants work through activities, and initiatives an authentic group process that when transferred to other settings like the classroom, workplace, athletic field, home, church, school or community, provides important insights into how we function in a group. Our goal is to “make-easy” this transference.

Low ropes elements are structured activities that are low-to-the-ground and consist of ropes, cables, and logs. These tools provide groups the opportunity to participate in a series of challenging and fun activities.

Our facilitators are trained to help the group process their experiences, reflect on lessons learned, and help them adapt behavior or attitudes for future challenges.

Our staff are experienced in making decisions that are in the best interest of the group regarding weather. For all programs where inclement weather is a possibility, we will work with you on a potential rain location.
