The Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) Program of the Year 2021 Committee announced Western Carolina University’s Educational Leadership Program as CPED’s 2021 Program of the Year! The Program of the Year award is given annually to one or more institutions whose CPED-influenced programs show themselves to be distinctive, innovative, and useful to other CPED members. In other words, this award is not intended to identify a so-called “best” program among CPED members, but rather offer evidence of a proofing site that lifts up and features a program’s approaches and components that might stimulate change and innovation among other CPED-influenced programs.
The CPED consortium includes over 100 colleges and schools of education across the US and Canada. Members have committed resources to work together to undertake a critical examination of the doctorate in education (EdD) through dialog, experimentation, critical feedback, and evaluation.
