Don Connelly teaches courses in broadcasting with specialties in broadcast sales and local and network radio broadcasting. He earned his master's degree in communication from the University of Central Missouri and spent 23 years in local and network radio management. The last 17 years of his career were in the Orlando, Florida, market. Connelly joined Western Carolina University from Clear Channel Networks. Connelly is the author of Digital Radio Production, third edition, a college textbook published by Waveland Press. Connelly's radio production work has been recognized nationally on numerous occasions including four Broadcast Education Association King Family Foundation Best of Festival Awards and one Gabriel Award from the Catholic Academy of Communication Arts Professionals. He holds professional certifications from the Society of Broadcast Engineers and the Radio Advertising Bureau.
Connelly's work with his students has been recognized at Western Carolina University, having received the Chancellor's Meritorious Service Award to Students.
Connelly is the faculty adviser for the university's radio station, Power 90.5, www.wwcufm.com.
