WCUSpanish Professor lectures in Hong Kong, publishes new poetry collection.

Santiago García-Castañón's month of March has been not too shabby! At the end of February, his latest poetry collection, Las huellas de Erató, was released by Editorial Dunken in Buenos Aires. This is his eleventh published poetry collection and twentieth book altogether.

During WCU’s Spring Break, Santiago went on a lecture tour in Hong Kong. He gave three lectures at two different higher education institutions in this region of China. At Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he presented his first two: “Faulty Borrowings: (Mis)Used Foreign Language Expressions in American English” on Monday, March 11; and “Don Quixote and the World of Cervantes” on Wednesday, March 13.

The next day, this time at Hong Kong Baptist University, Dr. García-Castañón talked about his experience translating John Milton into Spanish in a lecture entitled “The Challenges of Translating English Classical Poetry into Spanish Verse”.
