2019 Dean's Outstanding Scholar: Gabby Eaton

WCUSpanish student Gabby Eaton received the 2019 Dean's Outstanding Scholar Award for World Languages. Students and Faculty from all departments and programs from the College of Arts and Sciences gathered last April 1st at the Blue Ridge Conference Room to celebrate our students' incredible achievements in the past academic year. 

Professor Santiago García-Castañón introduced Gabby to the room and highlighted her achievements, not only on his classes, but also as a member of the WCUSpanish community. She was then presented with the award by College of Arts and Sciences' Dean, Professor Richard Starnes. Gabby will be able to wear this "piece of bling" (Dean Starnes dixit) as part of her graduation regalia at the next Commencement ceremony in May. 

The choice of Gabby for this award was incredibly easy; and thus, she was voted unanimously. We are so proud of her, and we look forward to hearing more of her achievements, as she prepares the process of application for Medical School in the near future.
