Nursing faculty receive grant to study loneliness in rural elders
July 7Western Carolina University School of Nursing faculty members April Messer and Angie Trombley recently received a $10,000 grant from the Daisy Foundation to conduct a project titled “Nurse-Led Social Connection for Rural Elder Adults.”

WCU Health Services achieves 2 accreditation milestones
March 25In December 2025, WCU Health Services earned first-time accreditation from the Association for Ambulatory Health Care, a national accrediting body for outpatient facilities, including university health centers, outpatient surgical centers and medical home facilities. Less than 30% of university health centers nationwide hold AAAHC accreditation.
