Western Carolina University's 37th annual Language Contest for high school and middle school students was held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Western Carolina's Ramsey Center with approximately 160 students participating in various events. 2019 Winners
The Department of World Languages sponsors this annual language competition for regional high school and middle school students. The contest is designed to test students' knowledge in French and Spanish. Individuals and teams in French and Spanish compete in several events: music, quiz bowl, native speaker Spanish quiz bowl, skits, show and tell, how-to, poetry recitation, native speaker poetry and extemporaneous speaking.
The department's students and faculty, along with volunteers from other departments on campus, serve as judges.
