In the leadup to Beth Macy's appearance in the 2023 Spring Literary Festival, join us for a wide-ranging panel conversation about the opioid crisis in western North Carolina. Moderated by Beth Young, coordinator of the addiction studies program, the conversation will feature perspectives from law enforcement (Greg Christopher), healthcare (Jessica Shuford), social work (Ben Farlow), and nonprofit organizations (Kelly Teague).

The first 25 people registered will receive a free copy of Beth Macy's bestselling book Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that Addicted America (must be present to receive your book).
