Karen R. Cochran MSN, RN, CNOR

Karen Cochran is a HRSA Grant Program Director. This is a work force diversity grant from the Health Resources Services Administration that funds the RN to BSN Rural Education and Support (RN BRES) program.
Prior to coming to Western Carolina University, Ms. Cochran accrued 20 years of nursing experience in perioperative and procedural areas. She most recently worked at Mission Hospital as a clinical educator for surgical areas. Ms. Cochran is certified as an operating room nurse and has earned a certificate of mastery in surgical services education. Her work experience includes the operating room, post anesthesia care unit, and interventional radiology.
Ms. Cochran earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from National Louis University in Chicago, IL. Her Associate of Science in Nursing was earned at St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, FL.
Karen Cochran is a member of Association periOperative Registered Nurses, American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
