Gail Elliott is an Assistant Professor of Undergraduate Studies of Western Carolina University School of Nursing. Her teaching career began as a clinical adjunct instructor in the ABSN program in May 2013.
Prior to joining the faculty at WCU, Ms. Elliott worked as a staff RN at Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital in Hendersonville, NC. Her work on the Women & Children's Unit included Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby, Pediatrics, Level II NICU, and Women's Post Operative care. Work on this unit also included triage of all obstetrical patients.
Ms. Elliott's educational background began with a BA in History from University of North Carolina at Asheville. Following a medical mission trip to Honduras Ms. Elliott decided to purse nursing and graduated from the ABSN Nursing Program at WCU in 2009. Most recently she graduated from WCU's MSN Nurse Educator Program in 2013. Her research during her MSN degree focused pregnant women's use of the internet for pregnancy related information.
Ms. Elliott is a member of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She currently resides in Mills River, NC.
