in the Nutrition and Dietetics Program. Prior to this position, she worked as a clinical
dietitian at Mission Hospital and a public health nutritionist at Clay County Health
Department.

Bio:
Shannon Moore completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and
Exercise at Virginia Tech and her Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
at Northern Illinois University. During her career, she has worked as a clinical dietitian
and public health nutritionist, providing medical nutrition therapy services to a
diverse population of patients and often serving as a preceptor for nutrition students.
She began her role as Assistant Professor in the Nutrition and Dietetics program in
fall 2018.
Shannon lives in Hiawassee, Georgia with her husband, Jared Moore. Outside of nutrition, her interests include coaching youth softball, hiking, and spending time on Lake Chatuge.
