Tau Sigma National Honor Society

Tau Sigma Crest

The purpose of Tau Sigma National Honor Society is to recognize the academic achievement of students transferring to Western Carolina University (WCU) from another academic institution and to encourage and promote the students' involvement at WCU. Tau Sigma is an academic honor society designed specifically to "recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students." New transfer students at WCU who earn at least a 3.5 GPA on a full-time load of at least 12 credit hours their first semester will receive an invitation to join.

Tau Sigma members become active members of the university, participating in campus events and programs, community service projects, and social networking events that provide fellowship with one another and opportunities to make new friends.
