New Student Convocation is an important event that marks the official welcome to the university. We are excited to congratulate and celebrate the arrival of WCU's new students with an event they will not forget. Families of students, members of the community, and WCU faculty and staff are invited to join. The 2024 New Student Convocation will feature Dr. Alvin Malesky, recipient of the UNC Board of Governors 2024 Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Welcome Remarks
Provided by campus leaders including Student Government Association President Aaron Hoyle-Rivera, Chancellor Kelli Brown, Provost Richard Starnes, and Vice Chancellor Sam Miller.

The Pride of the Mountains Marching Band
The band performs and introduces you to the WCU alma-mater and fight song, inviting you to sing along.
