Students are eligible for MAPS services if they meet one of the following criteria:
The term first-generation college student refers to students whose parents/guardians did not obtain a four-year degree from a college or university, even if other family members have attended or graduated from college.
Income guidelines, as determined by the US Department of Heath and Human Services (HHS), are as follows:

Students are eligible for services if they are an emancipated minor, orphan, or have aged out or ever been enrolled in foster care. Additionally, students are eligible if they are currently homeless or in danger of becoming homeless within the next six months. (A student is considered homeless if he or she lacks fixed, regular, and adequate housing.)
Students who are admitted to WCU through the Academic Success Program (ASP) are automatically eligible to apply for MAPS services. They will receive a personalized invitation prior to their arrival at WCU for the summer session.
