Any student that ceases enrollment for one (1) fall or spring semester while being below Good Academic Standing (Academic Warning, Suspension, or Dismissal) is required to submit an application as a returning student and a Statement of Academic Intent.
If you are a student who took a fall or spring semester off while on Academic Warning or were previous suspended or dismissed, you can return to WCU by completing the following steps:
Returning students below Good Academic Standing cannot return without completing both steps above. Statements of Academic Intent are reviewed monthly by the SAI Board comprised of staff members across campus. If approved, the Office of Student Retention will contact students using the email address listed on the Statement of Academic Intent with next steps, including completing an Academic Action Plan, contacting their advsor, and registering for classes.
Fall Semester: Submit an application and Statement of Academic Intent by July 1st.
Spring Semester: Submit an application and Statement of Academic Intent by November 15th
Summer Semester: Submit an application and Statement of Academic Intent and by April 15th
Submit a Statement of Academic Intent for 2021-2022 (Spring and Summer 2022 only)
Submit a Statement of Academic Intent for 2022-2023 (Fall 2022 and Spring/Summer 2023)
