Any student that ceases enrollment for one (1) fall or spring semester while being below Good Academic Standing (Academic Warning, Suspension, or Dismissal) is required to submit an application as a returning student and a Statement of Academic Intent.
If you are a student who took a fall or spring semester off while on Academic Warning or were previous suspended or dismissed, you can return to WCU by completing the following steps:
Returning students below Good Academic Standing cannot return without completing both steps above. Statements of Academic Intent are reviewed monthly by the SAI Board, which is comprised of staff members across campus. If approved, the Office of Student Retention will contact students using the email address listed on the Statement of Academic Intent with next steps, including completing an Academic Action Plan, contacting their advsor, and registering for classes.
Below are the recommended dates to submit application and Statement of Academic Intent. This date will provide the best opportunity to register for courses with current students. The deadline indicated is the last date to submit all materials in order to be considered for the given semester.
Returning for Fall Semester: Recommended date: April 1 or Deadline: July 1
Returning for Spring Semester: Recommended date: October 31 or Deadline: December 9
Returning for Summer Semester: Recommended date: March 15 or Deadline: April 15
