I have been an employee of Western Carolina University since 1998, after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. I began as an Administrative Support Specialist in Student Financial Aid before becoming the Office Assistant in the Department of Biology in 2000. Upon completion of my Masters of Arts in Education degree in College Administration & Leadership in 2005, I began working as an academic advisor in the Advising Center for programs in Health & Human Sciences, Pre-professional Programs, Philosophy & Religion and Anthropology & Sociology. In February 2016, I joined the OneStop team and have expanded my experiences in the fields of Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Parking Services to name a few. My current projects include the launch of a new departmental website and social media campaign.
I joined the OneStop in 2016. Before joining Western, I worked at Florida International University as the Program Assistant for the Center for the Humanities in an Urban Environment. I earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in English and a Certificate in Film Studies from Florida International University, a Master’s of Science in Academic Advising from Kansas State University, and am currently completing a Master’s in Arts in English with a concentration in Literature from Western Carolina University. I strive to implement effective assessment methods into the OneStop and use the data collected to make the university’s myriad processes accessible to an increasingly diverse student body.
