Agency Description: The Green Energy Park provides a space for the public to create art and build a sense of community, using renewable energy. The Park's mission is to offer environmental protection, educational opportunities, and increased economic development to the community through the utilization of landfill gas and other clean, renewable energy resources.
The Green Energy Park currently hosts one of the only glassblowing shops in the world to use landfill gas. An outdoor ceramics kiln is fired using waste wood and waste vegetable oil as fuels. A salt kiln will join the existing wood/soda kiln in the near future. The park also includes a blacksmithing/metals shop, sculpture garden, & gallery. Ongoing classes are open to the public, and a variety of intern positions are open to qualified applicants.
