Directions: From campus, follow Hwy 107 to downtown Sylva. At the end of downtown, just before the two one-way roads come back together, turn left. Make an immediate right onto Savannah Drive, the road leading up the hill toward the Courthouse. At the top of the first hill, turn left toward the courthouse and library, then turn right onto Ridgeway Street, across from the library. The Center for Domestic Peace will be on your right, in the same building as NC Works.
Agency Description: The Center for Domestic Peace has a mission to end interpersonal violence in the community, through prevention, intervention, and educational services. 
Training: The CDP provides a 20-hour victim advocate training course, which is required for client interaction and volunteering on the hotline. 
Time Commitment: A minimum of 8 hours per month across 2 sessions. Exceptions made for one-time, non-client based opportunities. 

Skills, Experience, and
Special Requirements:

Preference given to those with social work experience or experience with victims. 
Volunteer Involvement: Volunteers will primarily be involved in providing services to clients or taking hotline shifts. Other, short-term opportunities that are not client-facing may arise, such as helping with fundraising or other special events.
