Take Hwy 107 to Sylva; then take Hwy 23/74 East towards Waynesville. Merge onto I-40 East towards Asheville. Take I-240; then take the Charlotte Street exit. Turn right off the ramp, then turn left onto College Street. Executive Park is on the left.

Agency Description:

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

The Society serves all ages. Cancer has a lasting impact on patients, friends, and loved ones. Everyone needs support to cope with the challenges that cancer presents. The American Cancer Society helps identify resources for assistance. They also engage in community-based education, prevention, and early detection programs, as well as patient service programs.

Volunteer Involvement:

The American Cancer Society is often event-driven, raising funds through such events as Relay For Life. Volunteers can assist with community organizing, marketing, advertising, public relations, social work, staffing the hotline, researching available services, and with cancer advocacy.
