From the main campus entrance, turn right on Hwy 107. Turn right onto Business 23 at Bogarts, then merge onto Hwy 23/74 toward Waynesville. Take exit 102A toward downtown Waynesville. Follow Russ Avenue, Then turn right onto Main Street at the "T" intersection. Haywood Waterways is located in the Waynesville Municipal Building, on the right, at the end of downtown Waynesville. It is across the street from the police station.

Special Requirements:
Interest in water quality, community engagement, public speaking, student teaching, landscaping, or working in streams. Pleasant personality and ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Volunteer Involvement: Volunteers can help Haywood Waterways by educating citizens of all ages through public presentations, press releases, student programs, and volunteer initiatives; assisting with public surveys; leading volunteer groups and participating in such activities as storm drain stenciling, trash clean-ups, invasive plant removal, planting riparian vegetation, and rain garden maintenance; water quality monitoring, including benthic macroinvertebrates, chemistry, and sediment; and helping to promote the organization through video, photogaphic, and other means.
