should i bring a resume to the part-time employment fair?

We always encourage students to bring copies of their resumes to all employment fairs.

i don't have a resume; where can I go to create one?

Check out the Center for Career and Professional Development's Professional Handbook for tips on how to write a resume. You may also make an appointment to have a resume critiqued or you  may come in during our drop-in hours from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our office is located in 150 Reid -- Please use our direct entrance, which is located at the very back of Reid. It faces the paid lot and the road.

Do i need to dress up for this event?

No, students are not expected to come dressed in professional clothing; however, your appearance still matters when speaking with potential employers. Please choose clothing on the conservative side, make sure your clothes are wrinkle free, and avoid offensive clothing.

once i am hired, what do I do?

Once you have been hired by a department on campus, they will give you an hourly hiring form. You will need to bring this, along with your bank information for direct deposit and your government approved IDs to the CCPD for Non Work Study or Financial Aid for Work study positions to complete the hiring paperwork.  You are not cleared to begin working until you have completed this step.  Please see more information on new hires on our New Hires page.
