In response to the increasing spread of COVID-19 and to ensure the well-being of WCU’s students, faculty, and staff, Hunter Library is restricting building access to only those individuals considered mandatory employees of the library (or other services housed within the library) until further notice. Hunter Library will still provide access, however, to physical materials housed in the library.
Hunter Library also continues to provide virtual patron support and e-materials to all WCU-affiliated individuals. Live support is available on our website via live chat between 8 a.m. and midnight each day and by phone on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.: 828-227-7485.
To request a physical item (print book, DVD, etc.) for pickup at Hunter Library:
Access Services staff will pull the item and check it out to you.
Physical materials may be picked up by appointment between 12 – 3 p.m. To schedule an appointment, please call 828-227-7485 or text 828-333-5822.
You may either come to the library entrance and knock on the door to pick up your items or you may park in front of the library and text/call us for curbside delivery.
All WCU patrons may request to have items sent to their house via USPS or other delivery service, rather than coming to Hunter Library. To request a physical item (print book, DVD, etc.) for delivery:
Due dates have been extended to August 17, 2020 for all materials checked out to current WCU patrons. This includes ABC and ILL materials. Questions may be directed to our circulation department by calling 828-227-7485, texting 828-333-5822.
There are two book drops available: one by the CatTran stop and a book drop beside of the main entrance to the library. You may also mail materials back to Hunter Library using the address below.
