A Cricut is a computer-controlled cutting machine. The machines are used for cutting paper, felt, vinyl, fabric, and other materials such as leather, matboard, and wood.
You can use the Cricut for various creative projects, including vinyl decals, custom greeting cards, signs, personalized apparel, and more.
The Cricut station includes a cabinet with supplies: cutting mats, picking and cutting tools, extra blades, and transfer tape. Access to these supplies is free. You just need to check out the key to the cabinet from the circulation desk.
The library sells 12”x12” sheets of removable vinyl and cardstock at the circulation desk. They are $1 per sheet. Cricut products are available at many major retailers, and you are welcome to bring your own supplies.
You can create designs in any design software, such as InDesign, and then save it as one of the file types accepted by Cricut. The file types are PNG, JPG, SVG, DXF, GIF, and BMP.
You will need to use Cricut Design Space (download available) to send the design to the machine. You can use the computer connected to the Cricut or connect your computer using Bluetooth.
No. The Cricut is first come, first served. You only need to check out the key to the supply cabinet from the circulation desk.
