Sewing Machine

Two sewing machines on a desk

What sewing machines are available?

There are two machines available: a Singer Heavy Duty Mechanical and a Janome Computerized.

How do I reserve one?

They can be reserved through an online booking form. You can book up to 4 hours a day, with a max of 8 hours per week.

When you come in for your booking, you need to checkout the foot pedal for the machine you reserved and the key to the supply cabinet before using the machine.

What supplies does the library offer?

The sewing supply cabinet contains all the basic notions needed for sewing. This includes:

  • Fiskars scissors (right and left-handed)
  • Thread snips
  • Needle threaders
  • Pins and sewing clips
  • Seam rippers
  • Thread -- Black and White only
  • Machine needles
  • Hand sewing needles
  • Small iron and wool pressing pad
  • And more!

Note: The library doesn’t sell any sewing supplies. Users will need to bring their own fabric/material, thread outside of the black and white options, and any specialty tools.
