OneSearch Discovery Tool

OneSearch is Hunter Library’s new discovery tool, which allows you to find Books, E-books, full-text articles from scholarly journals and magazines, media, and other library collections.

How is this different from the search box that was there before?

The previous search box searched our most popular Databases and retrieved articles and a few e-books. The new search will include the Library Catalog, which will help you locate books and media as well.  The new search also includes many more databases than the previous search, so you will be able to access more materials with a single search.

Where did the old search go?

We still subscribe to various EBSCO databases, which you can search individually or in one search box on our Articles/Databases page.

Can I do an advanced search?

Yes. After your initial search, you will see an Advanced Search option next to the search box. You can also choose to refine your options (by date, content type, subject terms, location, etc.) and limit to full text and/or scholarly items.

How do I get help using this?

Use the AskUs chat box or contact the Reference Desk, (828) 227-7465 or Toll-free: (866) 928-5424 during reference hours. We are still testing this new tool, so please let us know if you have any problems finding what you need.
