Duplication Services

Please read all required forms concerning duplication services and permission to publish.  All appropriate forms must be completed prior to obtaining reproductions.  Publication of materials requires completion of a “Permission to Publish” form.  Please note that a signature is required for all forms.  Clear reproductions cannot always be made from the original materials and duplications are purchased at the risk of the requester.  Hunter Library reserves the right to refuse or to limit a duplication request at staff’s discretion.

For duplication requests to be processed, complete and return the Special Collections Request for Copies and Permission to Publish form.

Payment

Upon receipt of an invoice from Hunter Library for the duplication request, advance payment may be made by check or money order or in person by cash.  A $3.00 shipping & handling charge will be added to mail delivery.  Do not send cash by mail.  Make checks payable to “Hunter Library” and in USD (United States dollars).  Hunter Library does not accept credit cards.

Delivery

Hunter Library will make every effort to complete a request in a timely manner, but cannot guarantee a delivery date due to staff obligations, complexity of the request, and prior commitments.  Reproductions will be provided by photocopies, CD / DVD for digital images, or email based on the size of the image.  An additional charge will be included for postal or other freight charges.  Hunter Library does not assume any responsibility for items lost or delayed by delivery.

Copyright statement

Special Collections does not own the copyright to all items in its collections.  It is the sole responsibility of the user to determine the copyright status and to secure permissions from copyright or literary right holders to avoid any infringement.

Cameras

Special Collections permits the use of digital cameras on unrestricted holdings if the staff grants permission and if materials will not be damaged.  Use of strong lights is not permitted.  The policies and forms governing personal reference and research apply.

Citation

Publication of materials will cite the name of the collection and source as Hunter Library, Western Carolina University.
