Ethan Cheng

Biography

Dr. Ethan Cheng is an Associate Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Western Carolina University. Dr. Cheng was named one of the Notable Hospitality Leaders in 2024, one of the Global 30 Most Influential Educators in Hospitality in 2023, one of the 100 Most Powerful People in USA Hospitality in 2022, and one of the Global 25 Most Influential Educators in Hospitality for 2021 by the International Hospitality Institute.<br><br>He received the 2023-2024 Board of Governors’ Creative and Innovative Teaching Award, the 2023-2024 Engagement Award, and the 2022-2023 Excellence in Research Award from the Western Carolina University College of Business.<br><br>Dr. Cheng earned his Ph.D. in Food and Hospitality Systems from the University of Missouri. Before pursuing his doctoral degree, he earned his master’s degree (MBA) in tourism management from Ming Chuan University in Taiwan and his bachelor’s degree (BBA) in leisure management from Minghsin University of Science and Technology in Taiwan.
