Biography

A native of Greer, South Carolina, Tom Rogers earned his undergraduate degree from The Citadel, an MBA from Winthrop University, and his Ph. D. in International Business from the University of South Carolina. He earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2010.<br><br>Dr. Rogers has taught project management at the undergraduate and graduate levels since 2011. Prior to coming to teach project management at WCU, Dr. Rogers taught international business, international marketing and engineering technology at various universities in the United States and Europe.<br><br>As part of his over 15 years of consulting and conducting projects, Dr. Rogers has led a series of projects for clients ranging from marketing research for a university athletic department to product development for a service to offer to automobile dealerships to creating a training program for a Fortune 100 company.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Rogers’ teaching interests focus on project management at WCU. His other teaching interests include international business, design of experiment (DOE), and marketing research.

Research Interests

Dr. Rogers’ main research focus is on teams because they are an integral part of project management. His other research interests are on the art of teaching and defining success.
