MFA in Interior Architecture with a focus in Sustainability, BS in Applied Studies with a focus in management (Magna cum Laude). I owned and operated a small design and construction company in central N.H. Completed 75% residential projects from small baths to entire home design and was the project manager responsible for ground breaking through turn key. 25% of my business was in educational and library facilities. I began teaching at a community college, realized that my experience provided real life connection to studio projects and lecture theory. I have been teaching full time since 2012. Enjoy showing young emerging designers the “rabbit hole” of interior design.
My teaching interests are in bringing "real" projects to the studio, connect community needs to design solutions in service learning projects. Out of the classroom exposure to professionals in the field, sources and learning opportunities in the industry. This approach to learning instills social responsibility, solution driven design outcomes, and a more dynamic classroom.
Service Learning experiential learning within design studios, EBD, research on empathy, engaging students in design projects that support our community and beyond.<br>An interdisciplinary student-led project addressing health issues that relate to living in poverty and the built environment in Appalachia, Design for Health
