Dr. Sara Duncan (she/her) joined the faculty in the School of Health Sciences in the Environmental Health Sciences Program on August 1, 2019. In May 2018, she achieved her Ph.D. in Environmental Exposure Science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and her Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science from Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, Hawaii in May 2012.<br><br>She is originally from rural Massachusetts, and after spending years in more urban settings, she is excited to get back to a rural setting here in Western North Carolina.

Teaching Interests

Sara teaches Air Quality Control, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Toxicology, and Solid and Hazardous Waste Management in the Environmental Health Program. She aims to integrate real-world applications and research experiences in her classrooms.

Research Interests

Sara's research focuses on rural air pollution exposures as well as improving the health of homes in Western NC communities.
