Teaching Interests

Ted Coyle teaches about contemporary human issues with a focus on religion, kinship, language, folklore, ethnographic methods, and the indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica and South America.

Research Interests

Dr. Coyle is a cultural anthropologist and folklorist. Dr. Coyle has published about the political and cultural history of the Náayeri people of Mexico; worked on contracted projects for the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park; and researched the global Irish traditional music scene.
