Biography

Monica is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science in the Geosciences and Natural Resources Department where she teaches courses in environmental science, sustainability, and geospatial analysis. Monica's interdisciplinary research program focuses on supporting land management decisions through analysis of landscape change and human-environment interactions. She is currently leading research to evaluate alternative scenarios of landscape change, analyze how energy development affects wildlife and ecosystem services, and quantify cultural ecosystem services provided by public lands. She was formerly a research scientist with the U.S. Geological Survey where she conducted science to support decisions regarding the development of energy resources.
