Dr. Jane E. Dell received her Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno where she investigated the effects of fire on plant and arthropod communities. The two general goals of her research program are to understand relationships between complex ecosystem processes and community parameters and to provide natural resource managers with information and tools that will enable them to become better stewards of vigorous and sustainable ecosystems. Dr. Dell's research strives to span the continuum from basic to applied ecological questions, focusing on understanding and conserving biological diversity while providing a strong scientific basis for natural resource management decisions.
