Biography

Dr. Kimberly Elliott is currently an Assistant Professor- Teaching, in the School of Teaching and Learning, College of Education and Allied Professions at Western Carolina University. She presently teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level and enjoys working with colleagues in the area of Educational Curriculum and Instruction (EDCI). Dr. Elliott is the founder and CEO of Elliott & Associates Educational Consulting, LLC. She is a retired school superintendent and has served 39 years in the North Carolina education system.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Elliott's teaching interests include: literacy, assessment, public school law, education foundations, educational philosophy, school improvement, educational innovations, and curriculum and instruction.

Research Interests

Dr. Kimberly Elliott's research interests include: school safety; social justice, equity and inclusion; recruitment and retention of educators; school administration- challenges and opportunities; and equitable grading/assessment practices.
