Biography

Callan comes to WCU with a distinguished career in acting in television, in film, and on stage for over 30 years. Her professional career has spanned over 3 decades. She has guest starred on shows such as STAR TREK, CROSSING JORDAN, CHICAGO HOPE, LA LAW THE OUTCAST, PROFILER. Film roles include Nicholas Spark’s THE CHOICE, TIME TRAVELER, ROCKFORD FILES, and THE TEMPEST. She has been seen in National Commercials, among them NETFLIX, and THE HALLMARK CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT. She is an award-winning actress who has worked Off-Broadway at such places as: The Kennedy Center, Longwharf Theatre, Berkeley Rep., Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Odyssey, New Dramatists, Provincetown Playhouse, ACT, and the award winning ACTORS CO-OP in Los Angeles. She has performed with Bryan Cranston, James Garner, Irene Worth, Richard Kiley, George Grizzard, Tammy Grimes, Glynnis Johns, to name a few. She has been a part of several world premier plays and is also an Emmy voter for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Local directing credits include NC Stage’s recent production of 12 Dates of Christmas, Freud’s Last Session at the Front Porch Theatre in Black Mountain, and the critically acclaimed Better Strangers at the Magnetic Theatre.
