SAT and ACT Dates and Deadlines

The SAT is one of two standardized college admissions tests in the US. The SAT is a standardized test meant to show schools how prepared you are for college by measuring key skills like reading comprehension, computational ability, and clarity of expression. The ACT, like the SAT, is a standardized test designed to show colleges how prepared you are for higher education by measuring your reading comprehension, knowledge of writing conventions, and computational skills and then comparing you with the rest of the students who take it.

Guidance Counselors prefer that you have completed Algebra I and Geometry before you take the tests. You may need to take both tests a couple of times; at least once in the spring of your junior year and once at the beginning of your senior year. Some institutions require the SAT II subject tests.

You can register for register for either of these tests by picking up a registration packet from your Guidance Counselor, your Project Discovery Counselor or by registering online for the SAT or registering online for the ACT. Please note that you must upload a headshot of yourself when you register.
