This workshop will provide an overview of a typical 501c3’s financial essentials, so participants can feel more confident understanding and communicating financial data. The focus will be on providing information that is relevant for board members, managers, and executive directors in their respective roles. Participants will learn a range of nonprofit tax compliance issues including the use of financial statements and understanding the Form 990.
Benjamin L. Harrison has 5 plus years’ experience working as an accountant for Dixon Hughes Goodman, LLP in Asheville, North Carolina. Ben’s primary area of focus is tax-exempt organizations which has included annual tax compliance, assisting exempt organizations with applying for exempt status, and various consulting issues affecting tax-exempt entities. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Western Carolina University.
Each course will offer a one-day on-site workshop and the remaining 4 weeks will be completed on-line. There are 8 courses that are required for the CNP curriculum.
