Due to the ongoing Covid-19 National Emergency WCU has canceled all on-campus events for the summer of 2020. This means that our Rocket to Creativity day camp will not launch in its usual form.  Even so,  we won’t let the pandemic keep us down!  Sign your children up for a week of exciting adventures in creativity from home!  The new Virtual Rocket to Creativity will be June 22-26. For ages 7-15.

Did you know there is a connection between creativity and happiness?  A recent study shows that engaging in creative activity results in positive emotions, well-being, and a sense of flourishing. Here’s what you can expect from our newly revamped format:

  • Do at home activities designed to spark creative and critical thinking.
  • Daily Creativity Challenge that requires little more than creative imagination and materials that can easily be found at home or in the yard.
  • Check -ins via phone or zoom with teacher
  • Access to teacher 10-4. via phone for questions and assistance
  • Small group brainstorming, collaboration on a creative project, and sharing through the week facilitated by a teacher
  • A culminating virtual showcase.
  • Resources for additional creative exploration

Participants must have internet access and a device.  Please note, while check-ins and posting of ideas and so forth will be necessary, challenges are not intended to be screen based.  Challenges may involve going outside, making contraptions, models and so forth.

Cost-  $25.00 for the week.  20.00 for siblings.
