Mountain Heritage Days is organized and hosted by Western Carolina University as its annual gift to the community.

The festival is held on campus at WCU. You can enter the campus off of NC 107 and follow signs to on-campus parking options. A shuttle service provided by WCU's CatTran will be available from parking areas across campus to the event site.

Mountain Heritage Days is a free week long event put on for the community by Western Carolina University. There’s no charge to attend, parking and a shuttle services are also free.
Yes. Dogs are allowed on leash for the Saturday event and must behave. There are comfort areas with water provided throughout the festival.

The event is rain or shine.

The current forecast has only a slight chance of scattered showers, but this is the mountains so you never know. In the event of high winds or lightning, performances could be delayed.

Once you arrive on campus our staff will direct guests to plenty of free parking options nearby, with free shuttle service available if needed.

Mountain Heritage Days is located on the campus of Western Carolina University, in Cullowhee, NC. WCU's Campus is south of Sylva on NC 107 and there will be plenty of signage.

Accepted payments vary between vendors. Some may have the ability to accept credit and debit cards, while all vendors accept cash.

Yes, there is an ATM on festival grounds and others available on campus.

This is an outdoor festival, so folding chairs and blankets can come in handy. Be sure to have sunscreen and hats, stay hydrated and cool.

Yes. You can bring your own food and drinks to the festival. There are also plenty of vendors available onsite with a variety of food.
