Get to know the residents of Morningstar Assisted Living! Volunteers will be partnered with residents to facilitate games and other activities that foster relationship-building. Seniors who experience isolation have higher rates of cognitive decline and illness. Spend some time building relationships with the seniors of Jackson County to combat the negative health effects of isolation and to bring some joy into their day!

Join us at Samaritan's Feet to help sort shoes that will be used in local shoe distributions and sent overseas for children in need. Samaritan's Feet is an organization that provides shoes to impoverished children while sharing the gospel locally and all over the world. This event is for volunteers ages 12 and up (anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). Parking is available on-site.

The Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC

The Warehouse Project will be held inside the warehouse at each of our branches. Please know that there might be times when we will hold this opportunity outside weather permitting. While assisting the food bank in this activity, please know that volunteers are expected to participate in the following tasks:

Together, we will: Sorting out produce and donations from retail stores such as Food Lion and Harris Teeter. We will clean and bag  Capri Sun, build CSFP boxes for senior citizens., sort and inspect food drive donations from individuals and corporate donations, and more!

Please remember that closed - toe shoes are required at all times while volunteering at the food bank.

Join the Office of Alumni Engagement & The Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning for a work day at Homebase Campus Ministry as part of the Weekend of Service for our I Love WCU Month. What's Weekend of Service?

Volunteer shifts are from 10am -12pm or 12pm -2pm.  Help Homebase by helping them with deep cleaning and small projects. Join, and invite a friend!
